Job Description:
This role owns our core platform software that is an OS layer designed for sensor fusion from many remote radar heads. The platform is unlike any traditional robotics operating system – each radar head sends several Gbps of data and we fuse many streams with a compute intensive signal processing and ML pipeline on an embedded GPU with tight real-time and latency requirements. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and growing the platform software team and for building the software components needed to deliver a high-quality radar imagery system.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency with modern C++ (we use C++ 14)
- Experience developing for embedded Linux or POSIX systems
- At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience
- Experience developing software that runs on an RTOS
- Familiarity with professional software development tools, such as source control (git), unit testing, and profiling
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience managing and mentoring a software team
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with developing mission critical software (e.g. aviation or autonomous vehicles)
- Experience with CUDA
- Experience with radar, lidar, cameras, GPS/IMU, or other automotive sensors
- Experience mentoring team members on software development and best practices
Working at Zendar Includes:
- Opportunity to make an impact at a young, venture-backed company in an emerging market
- Competitive salary. Range for this position, depending on experience, is $160-250k annually.
- Benefits including health, vision, dental, and equity.
- Daily catered lunch and a stocked fridge (when working out of the Berkeley, CA office)
