Context about the opening:
We are looking for a senior backend engineer with 7+ yrs of experience in building complex, scalable backend systems and take ownership of our end-to-end backend stack.
Requirements: (Essentials to apply for this job.)
- Minimum 3 years prior experience of working in a B2B SaaS company
- Should have worked in at least one early stage startup
- Should have worked on a service at scale of at least one 1M RPM
- Should be proficient in setting up multi-system architectures using k8s, redis, kafka, DBs and know how to monitor this setup
- Should be extremely proficient in working with at least one cloud provider
- Has worked on projects related to data warehousing and understands how data pipelining works
- Should be based in Bangalore or willing to relocate (We are working from office)
Perfect match: (If any of the following represents you, you’ll be a preferred candidate)
- Should have worked with at least of the OLAP DBs in terms of setting up and usage (eg: Pinot, Clickhouse)
- Understands data technologies like Kafka, Spark, Airflow fluently and has worked with some of them extensively
- Should be familiar and have used monitoring and observability tools like elastic, grafana, prometheus etc.

About the interview
Interview Process (1 week)
Informal Conversation
This stage is a more informal call to get to know more about the role & Dr. Droid and for you to evaluate whether it’s a good fit for you. The conversation will cover some light discussions about your past projects.
Technical Screening
This part is to assess basic skills. We will have a DS & Architecture round where we discuss a few problems and your thought process on them. We will also do some code writing.
Deeper Evaluation
This part will be a deeper understanding of how you approach open ended problems and design solutions for them. This could be around designing a detailed architecture and then answer questions around its flexibility and scalability, as well as your estimation on timelines within which they can be done.
