We construct and operate a world-leading fleet of zero emission sailing cargo ships.
Creating A Clean Solution
We began as a crowdsourced start-up building a wooden cargo ship in Costa Rica, and have since grown to be a globally recognized leader in the clean shipping movement.
Sailcargo Inc. is supported by international investors that share our vision. We believe that while the world changes, it is our responsibility to decide how.
We are devoted to using renewable shipbuilding materials, empowering our community through safe, stable employment and supporting environmental stewardship.
Vega is a traditional three masted wooden schooner with a cargo capacity of 80 metric tonnes. Starting in 2023, Vega will sail coffee from Colombia to the eastern United States.
Our clients want to start shipping with Sailcargo Inc. as soon as possible, and Vega makes this a reality. With a ship ready to sail, we can start proving the value of clean shipping today.
The ship is currently seeking cargo partners for southbound trips from the United States to Central and South America.
Ceiba is also a traditional wooden schooner, but with a cargo capacity of 250 metric tonnes.
The flagship of Sailcargo Inc., Ceiba has headlined international press, leading the conversation for clean energy shipping solutions.
When not sailing under wind, Ceiba is propelled by a proprietary electric motor system.
Ceiba is under construction and is due to be completed in 2025. It will join Vega on the North / Central / South America route.
Our long term goal is to amass a fleet of ships to meet the growing demand for sustainable shipping. We will build a second ship at our shipyard, following the same design as Ceiba. Utilizing our expertise in tropical wooden shipbuilding, preparations have already begun.
The market is rich with vessels appropriate for cargo transportation. We will continue the next acquisition phase of more vessels, as was done with Vega.
You can invest in Sailcargo Inc. today to change the future of shipping and make a direct impact.
