Join a growing team where Solutions Engineering is key. We’re remote with location-equal pay, and believe kindness and diversity are part of excellence. 🌐
Daily is WebRTC video and audio for every developer. We’re building the APIs and infrastructure to power the future of video, and the Internet.
Developers use Daily to build real-time, live experiences into any product. They can integrate a fully working video call in minutes. Our customers work across use cases — events, edtech, creator economy, healthcare, and more — to create interactions like large calls, streams, virtual worlds and layouts, and webinars.
As a team, we value each other, and emphasize kindness and diversity. Each of us wants to build something we’re proud of, and go after something big, while taking care of ourselves and our families. Daily is remote (and have been so even before COVID), and led by seasoned executives who’ve worked in video for decades. We’ve raised $60 million from investors including Renegade, Tiger Global, Lachy Groom, Slack Fund, and Y Combinator.
At Daily, we’re focused on providing the best possible product and experience to developers. The Solutions Engineering team is central to this. We’re excited to expand the team and hire a Solutions Engineer covering North America time zones. This is a chance to work with the latest in video technology; play a key role in growth; and help shape your growing team.
As an SE, you’ll work with select customers, as their key technical contact. These include developers building advanced integrations, as well as those driving growth. You’re the engineer who’s the expert in all things Daily, with the extensive knowledge of our APIs, product offering and the broader WebRTC ecosystem.
We value cross-functional collaboration. In addition to SE and customer success colleagues, you’ll work with sales, engineers, and devrel. You’ll report to the Head of Solutions, and work with our executive colleague with a deep background in WebRTC. (Learn more about Varun, and his contributions to WebRTC, here.)
Most of all, this is a chance to work with colleagues who also care about each other, and care about their work. If you share these values and drive, we’d love to talk with you.
- Be the technical resource for key customers as they build and maintain integrations with Daily.
- Become an expert on our platform’s API and infrastructure, the WebRTC ecosystem, and emerging video technology. You’ll share your insights in both conversation and code.
- Partner closely with Customer Success, to understand and advance the technical and business goals of the customer. You’ll provide technical guidance, resolve technical blockers and champion their needs within the organization.
- Serve as the dedicated last point of escalation. You’ll solve a wide variety of complex problems with code-led solutions and occasionally embed in customers’ teams to shepherd implementation
- Contribute to product with tactical contributions and bug fixes, to de-escalate a customer or quickly enable new sales opportunities. You’ll collaborate closely with senior colleagues in engineering and product.
- Play a key role during critical platform incidents. You’ll alert impacted customers, triage inbound reports, circulate updates / fixes and debrief with comprehensive post-mortems.
- Participate in the roll-out of new features to customers. You’ll identify beta candidates, produce supporting technical material, gain insight on usage and bring technical feedback back to your colleagues.
- Serve as the ‘voice of the customer’ in discussions with Product and Engineering about new features, bug fixes, and API design. You’ll get to see lots of ways that customers use our products, so you’ll be uniquely familiar with unmet needs and points of friction.
- At Daily, we write. As a platform maven, you’ll actively contribute towards our documentation, write detailed reference guides and sample code as well as contribute to public facing channels (our blog, conferences, community forums etc.)
- Establish and maintain a cadence of knowledge sharing across the organisation. You’ll document solutions, guide other employees and articulate new ideas to inspire our product roadmap.
- 5+ years of engineering experience, ideally with client-facing responsibilities
- Experience with technologies that our customers are using to build apps, like JavaScript, React, React Native, and/or Android and iOS (Swift/Kotlin)
- Ability to lead technical conversations with customers and stakeholders
- Innate problem solving POV, approaching tasks dynamically, resourcefully, and collaboratively
- Proactive ‘can do’ attitude
- Alignment with our team values, especially kindness and diversity
- An emphasis on clear writing
